Kangwon Land

A freezing cold day in Kangwon Land Ski Resort. Pssst, I was actually wearing thick layers that day including my winter gloves and super thick jacket because of the sudden drop of the temperature. However, in order to get these outfit pictures, I didn't even bother to wear them since it was still bearable for a few minutes. Pardon me for wearing these boots over and over again during my Korea trip because as you might have known, I don't have many winter shoes.

What I really wore that day, meet Anaz the polar bear hahaha.

And last but not least, introducing my 3 photographers during the trip a.k.a my sisters and cousin ;)
PS. I'll post and write more about Seoul on the next post so stay tuned.

Another update

Just a quick update about the outfit details during my Korea trip. It was -4 degrees if I'm not wrong and we were about to leave Seoul for Kangwon Land Ski Resort. I know people tend to think that I only dress up to look good without caring about the weather changes. Well, I won't deny that I like to look good but to tell you the truth, I've always been wearing 5 layers of clothing (minimum) ever since my first day in Seoul until today: 2 sets of long johns, plain sweater, dress shirt, thick sweatshirt + coat or winter jacket. So, yes I always manage to keep myself warm during this trip, just remember the trick.

Kimchiland

I couldn't recall when was my last visit to Korea, I can only remember that it was summer and hot as hell. Now that we're here during winter, I can't be more happy to be able to wear my winter outfits again! Pictures were taken two days ago by my cousin Citra and lil sister Dewi in front of COEX Mall just before our shopping spree since it's just a few minutes away from our hotel and we were waiting for my older sister to arrive. I was wearing "wang" scuba sweatshirt from the latest collaboration of Alexander Wang with H&M, oh finally!

Sweatshirt - Alexander Wang X HM
Elevator shoes - Guidomaggi
Mini pashli - 3.1 Phillip Lim

We had these meal at a random Korean Restaurant near our hotel and it was good enough since we were very hungry.

And last but not least, a good cup of coffee ;)

Pilgrimage by Didi Budiardjo

A few days ago, my fellow blogger friends and I went to the Pilgrimage Exhibition at Museum Tekstil Jakarta. Pilgrimage is the first exhibition by Didi Budiardjo in his 25 years or working in the Indonesian Fashion Industry. It is also a response of Mr. Didi's dedication on creating timeless work for years to come.

There, we were given a special tour by the designer himself and were told some interesting histories behind (almost) every single piece of his designs, his inspirations and of course about his fashion journey including the masterpieces he made since year 1989 to 2015. It was such a great honor to experience all of this, so thank you so much, we had a really great time there.

I still remember how I first knew his name through my oldest sister who was that time, a fashion student at Susan Budihardjo and how she praised Mr. Didi Budiardjo a lot of times since he was a well-known graduate for being excellent and talented from that same academy as well. Enough of my flashback story, back to the topic: the exhibition itself consists of 14 rooms each with different concept and story. Here are some pictures I managed to capture at the exhibition: amazing designs, unbelievable details, stunning stunning pieces! I was just speechless throughout the tour.

He always refers his creations as his daughters and he said that the dress above is his very first (oldest) daughter and it was created in the year I was born, 1989.

This is the white room, my favorite one.

"Inspired by human blood system" he stated, the zippers details are just so extraordinary! It's crazy and out of this world!

Celestial room. We were told that back in the days, crystal beads were not made with holes to stitch on fabrics and so Mr. Didi Budiardjo asked Mr. Rinaldy A. Yunardi's help to make shell plates for the crystals so they could be attached on the fabrics (dresses). He said there were hundreds pieces of beads! You see, this is what people called a true dedication and passion, I'm amazed!

The last beautiful room is the Finale Room. The dresses were actually made as a tribute and dedication of Didi Budiardjo to his own belief, also supported by Rinaldy A. Yunardi's unbelievable craft skill of making the armor (hardware), chills!

Most headpieces and accessories at the exhibition were made by the one and only Rinaldy A. Yunardi, while the concept and setting were created by the talented art director, Felix Tjahyadi and his team. Awesome idea as always.

Anyway guys, if you have some free time, you should really visit this exhibition, it's still on-going until February 1, 2015 (from 10.00 - 15.00). It's a must visit especially for people who are really interested (in many senses) in fashion, art and history. You know it's a rare chance to be able to see this kind of event in Jakarta. So please be sure not to miss the chance!
